Forum Sits Down with Sacramento Renaisance Man Maurice Read

Maurice 2You’ve heard of Frommer’s.  You’ve heard of Fodor’s.  You’ve even heard of Zagat.  But until you read Maurice’s Guide to Sacramento, you don’t know Sacramento, circa 1978 that is.

Patrick and Isaac are joined in Tahoe Park Studios by Maurice Read.  Maurice has done many things, and made a huge impact on many facets of Sacramento life for over four decades.  Today we talk specifically about his guide to Sacramento,  a sometimes irreverent, and always insightful, look at the best of Sacramento written almost 35 years ago.  Listen in to find out how Sacramento looked in 1978 and how it stacks up against that picture today. It’s a fun look at our history, how we have changed, and even how we have stayed the same.

And in What’s News Isaac Gonzalez, we learn about the untimely passing of public television Icon Huell Howser, the recent Old Sacramento shooting tragedy, Michelle Rhee’s report card (Did California’s Chief Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction really say that out loud?), and Sacramento – Cocktail Capital of the World?
